IVS was founded by a former buy-side equity researcher who previously held the CFA charter and spent years building a large public investing platform.

Eventually, the work moved in the opposite direction of the modern financial-media machine: less broadcasting, less prediction, less performance theater — and more research, judgment, capital allocation and time.

Today, the Founder manages private capital and lives a deliberately low-frequency life organized around study, training, research and long-duration decision-making.

That transition — from public markets commentator to private capital allocator — is the intellectual foundation of Intrinsic Value System.

IVS exists to preserve the part of investing that survives changing markets: understanding businesses deeply, separating evidence from narrative, knowing what expectations are embedded, recording what changed, and having the discipline to leave a thesis alone when nothing material has changed.
